THE ROLE OF SHORT STORIES FOR ENHANCING INTEGRATED SKILLS

Abstract

The article discusses the role of short stories for enhancing integrated of students of non-linguistic universities. The main focus of the article is on the story approach to language teaching and the techniques and tasks that can be employed in engaging learners cognitively, linguistically, affectively and socially, thereby enabling integrated learning of the four major language skills like reading, writing (including creative writing), speaking and listening.
