THE IMPACT OF PEST MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE: A CASE STUDY OF PHASEOLUS AUREUS IN KARAKALPAKSTAN

Abstract
Phaseolus aureus, or mung bean, is a staple legume crop in Karakalpakstan, valued for its nutritional benefits and role in enhancing soil fertility through nitrogen fixation. However, the cultivation of Phaseolus aureus is challenged by various pests that threaten crop yield and quality. This article explores the impact of different pest management strategies on sustainable agriculture in the region. By examining integrated pest management (IPM) approaches and their effectiveness in mitigating pest pressures, this study aims to provide insights into sustainable agricultural practices for legume production in arid climates.
