Abstract

This article explores the rich symbolism in Ernest Hemingway's masterpiece "The Old Man and the Sea," analyzing the various symbolic elements and their significance in conveying deeper meanings about human perseverance, man's relationship with nature, and the human condition. Through comprehensive literary analysis, the study examines how Hemingway uses symbolism to create a layered narrative that transcends the simple story of an old fisherman's struggle with a marlin.
