α-TOCOPHEROL IMMUNE EFFECTS

Abstract

α-Tocopherol, commonly known as Vitamin E, is a potent antioxidant that plays a crucial role in maintaining immune system function. This vitamin's immune-modulatory effects are multifaceted, influencing various components of the immune response, including the function of T cells, B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. α-Tocopherol's role in reducing oxidative stress, enhancing immune cell signaling, and modulating inflammation has been widely studied. This article explores the immune effects of α-tocopherol, with an emphasis on its potential to enhance immune responses, its antioxidant activity, and its impact on the prevention of immune-related diseases. The article further highlights how α-tocopherol supplementation can be used to optimize immune function, particularly in individuals with deficiencies, elderly populations, and those with chronic inflammatory conditions.
