ANALYSIS OF NOISE IMMUNITY OF OPTICAL COMMUNICATION CHANNELS IN WDM SYSTEMS

Abstract

Research and the analysis of factors of the systems influencing quality with division according to wavelength and a choice of a method of an assessment of quality of optical channels are given in article.

In WDM systems, high-power group signals cause nonlinear effects in optical fibers. Nonlinearities create parasitic combination harmonics that cause interchannel interaction. This leads to deviations in system characteristics from the norm and a decrease in the quality of optical channels. Therefore, the power of the transmitted group signal should not exceed the required level. In spectral multiplexing systems, choosing an effective power level of the group signal reduces the impact of harmful FWM interference on transmission quality and ensures high-quality communication.
