SEMANTIC AND COGNITIVE PROPERTIES OF THE CONCEPT OF “TIME” IN JAPANESE PHRASEOLOGY

This article investigates the semantic and cognitive features of the concept of “time” in Japanese phraseology based on a linguocultural approach. It examines how the Japanese perception of time, national mentality, and worldview are reflected in idiomatic expressions. The study identifies the conceptual domain, metaphorical models, and cultural representations of time in Japanese. The findings reveal unique national characteristics of the time phenomenon in the Japanese language and provide opportunities for comparative linguistic analysis.
