HISTORICAL URBAN SQUARES OF SAMARKAND, FORMATION AND MODERN FUNCTIONS

This article explores the historical urban squares of Samarkand, focusing on their formation and contemporary functional roles. The study analyzes the significance of these squares within the city’s structure, as well as their social, cultural, and architectural importance. Special attention is given to the adaptation and preservation of these spaces under modern urbanization. As a result, recommendations are provided for integrating historical heritage with the dynamics of contemporary urban life.
