Keywords:

This article examines the lexical and semantic features of gender-related speech units in the languages under comparison. The study focuses on the mechanisms by which English and Russian express gender meanings, including semantic extension, connotation, and sociolinguistic conditioning. A comparative perspective is adopted to highlight how cultural factors shape gender-marked expressions and how these units function within communicative contexts. The findings reveal both shared tendencies and language-specific distinctions that contribute to a deeper understanding of gender representation in linguistic systems.
