EXPRESSION OF BCL-2 AND P53 MARKERS IN NONSPECIFIC ULCERATIVE COLITIS
Abstract
In this article, the features of immunohistochemical expression of P53 and Bcl-2 markers in nonspecific ulcerative colitis (NUC) were studied. P53 is a tumor-suppressing protein responsible for proliferation and DNA damage, which has high expression in the chronic stage of NUC and dysplastic changes in the epithelium. Bcl-2 was evaluated as an antiapoptotic protein, and its low expression at the epithelial level was observed in NUC, and moderate staining in lymphoid infiltrates. The combination of markers serves as an important diagnostic criterion for assessing the risk of malignant transformation of NUC.
