MORPHOGENESIS OF ADRENAL CHANGES IN SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH

Abstract

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) represents a major medico-legal and clinical challenge, often occurring without prior symptoms and requiring detailed morphological investigation to determine underlying mechanisms. The adrenal glands, being central regulators of stress response, demonstrate characteristic structural and functional alterations in SCD. This study analyzes the morphogenesis of adrenal changes associated with sudden cardiac death, focusing on alterations in the cortex and medulla, microvascular disturbances, cytoplasmic granule dynamics, and stress-related degenerative patterns. The findings highlight the diagnostic importance of adrenal morphology in establishing vital reactions and understanding pathophysiological responses during acute cardiac failure.
