Abstract

Music theory is a systematic study of the fundamental elements that govern musical structure, sound organization, and compositional logic. This article examines the core principles of Western music theory, focusing on pitch organization, rhythm, harmony, melody, tonality, and form. Drawing upon established theoretical frameworks and scholarly sources, the study analyzes how musical elements interact to create coherent musical works. The paper also explores historical developments in tonal systems and the scientific foundations of musical sound, emphasizing the relationship between acoustics and theoretical constructs. The findings demonstrate that music theory provides not only descriptive tools for analyzing music but also prescriptive frameworks for composition and performance. This research contributes to a deeper academic understanding of music theory as both an artistic and scientific discipline.
