ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an increasingly influential component of modern education, reshaping traditional approaches to teaching and learning. In English Language Teaching (ELT), AI technologies offer innovative solutions for personalized instruction, automated assessment, and enhanced learner engagement. This paper provides a comprehensive examination of AI in ELT, exploring its theoretical foundations, practical applications, benefits, challenges, and pedagogical implications. It also discusses the evolving role of teachers, ethical considerations, and future directions for AI-enhanced language education. The study argues that while AI cannot replace human teachers, its thoughtful integration can significantly enrich English language learning experiences.
