STUDY OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE COMPOUNDS IN THE MEDICINAL PLANT KONJAC

Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the major biologically active compounds in Amorphophallus konjac K.Koch (konjac), including glucomannan, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. Biologically active substances isolated from the tuberous rhizome of the plant were identified and quantitatively measured using modern chromatographic and spectroscopic methods (HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, atomic absorption spectrometry). The results helped elucidate the chemical basis underlying the hypoglycaemic, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and gastroprotective activities of konjac. The data obtained confirm the pharmacological value of the plant and demonstrate its potential for medicinal applications in Uzbekistan.

Keywords
