DETERMINATION OF HYDROPHILIC VITAMINS IN ALMOND FLOWERS OF THE “BOʻSTONLIQ” VARIETY USING HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY (HPLC)

Abstract

This study presents a detailed quantitative analysis of hydrophilic vitamins in almond (Prunus amygdalus) flowers of the “Boʻstonliq” variety using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Water-soluble vitamins, including B-group vitamins and vitamin C, were identified and quantified employing a Shim-pack GIST C18 column and a gradient mobile phase system.

The results revealed the presence of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, PP (niacinamide), and C in the extract. Among them, vitamin B3 (10.165 mg/100 g), vitamin PP (6.063 mg/100 g), and vitamin B9 (5.258 mg/100 g) were found in relatively high concentrations, while vitamins B1, B2, B6, and C were detected in smaller amounts. Vitamin B12 was not detected in the analyzed samples.

The obtained results demonstrate that almond flowers are a rich source of biologically active compounds and can serve as a promising raw material for the development of functional foods and nutraceutical formulations.
