Abstract

 Uzbek folk proverbs represent an essential component of national cultural heritage and linguistic identity. Proverbs preserve historical experience, social values, ethical norms, and collective wisdom accumulated over centuries. This article examines the linguocultural and semantic characteristics of Uzbek folk proverbs, focusing on their role in reflecting national mentality, cultural worldview, and moral values. The study applies semantic, linguocultural, and contextual analysis methods to identify the main thematic groups and symbolic meanings of proverbs. The findings show that Uzbek proverbs encode culturally specific concepts such as respect for labor, family values, honesty, patience, and wisdom. The article concludes that proverbs function not only as linguistic units but also as cultural signs that preserve the cognitive and spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people.
