POLIFUNCTIONALITY IN GEOGRAPHICAL TERMS OF UZBEK LANGUAGE

Abstract

This article discusses the phenomenon of polyfunctionality specific to language units. It has an anlysis on polyfunctional units and the causes and factors of their occurrence, their linguistic research, and the operation of polyfunctionality in the structure of terms. Polyfunctional geographical terms have been analyzed as polysemous terms that have diminished polysemantic properties but have not reached the level of homonymy.
