THALASSEMIA: MOLECULAR GENETIC DIAGNOSTIC METHODS

Abstract

Thalassemias can be defined as α- or β-thalassemias depending on the defective globin chain and the underlying molecular defects. The article presents the current molecular genetics methods of investigation used in clinical-laboratory and research practice.

Keywords

α- or β-thalassemia, globin chain, molecular defects, molecular genetic methods of research.
