MPROVING QUALITY RAW SILK PRODUCTION USING SURFACE ACTIVATING SUBSTANCES

Abstract
This article studies the issue of improving the washing properties of cocoons by modifying them with chemical preparations, which is one of the important areas of the sericulture industry. Although the natural structure of cocoons has many useful properties, the insufficient physical, mechanical and hydrophilic properties of some of them during its processing create problems in the industrial process. Therefore, the article evaluates the effect of various chemical preparations (for example, enzymes, antistatic agents, softeners, hydrophobizers) on cocoons on an experimental basis. The improvement of washing properties (water fastness, softness, elasticity) is determined in laboratory conditions, and the results are presented using statistical analysis. The results of the study can be useful in modernizing silk production technology, improving the quality of finished products, and introducing environmentally friendly processing technologies.
