INTERCULTURAL MISCOMMUNICATION IN LANGUAGE LEARNING: PEDAGOGICAL SOLUTIONS AND STRATEGIES

Abstract

 This article examines the causes of intercultural miscommunication in language learning, its impact on educational effectiveness, and pedagogical strategies to address it. Language learning involves not only linguistic competence but also cultural understanding. Misunderstandings may arise due to pragmatic, semantic, or nonverbal differences. The paper recommends fostering intercultural awareness, teaching pragmatic competence, using authentic materials, and applying reflective practices to minimize miscommunication.
