EPILEPTIC ENCEPHALOPATHY IN CHILDREN: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF NEUROIMAGING FINDINGS
Abstract
Epileptic encephalopathy in children represents a severe group of neurological disorders characterized by frequent epileptic activity that contributes to progressive cognitive, behavioral, and developmental impairment. Early and accurate diagnosis of epileptic encephalopathy is crucial for effective management and prognosis. Neuroimaging plays a pivotal role in identifying structural and functional brain abnormalities underlying epileptic activity. This article analyzes the significance of neuroimaging findings in the diagnosis and evaluation of epileptic encephalopathy in children. Emphasis is placed on the role of modern neuroimaging techniques in determining etiology, guiding treatment strategies, and predicting clinical outcomes.
