THE EFFECT OF FOUR WEEKS OF YOGIC PRACTICE ON SELECTED PSYCHOLOGICAL VARIABLES AMONG COLLEGE WOMEN: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of four weeks of yogic practice on selected psychological variables among college women. A randomized controlled trial was conducted on 60 college women who were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (n=30) or a control group (n=30). The experimental group received yogic practice for four weeks, while the control group did not receive any intervention. Pre- and post-intervention data were collected on selected psychological variables, including stress, anxiety, and depression. The results showed that the experimental group had significant reductions in stress, anxiety, and depression scores compared to the control group. These findings suggest that four weeks of yogic practice can be an effective intervention for reducing psychological distress among college women.
