Abstract
The article is dedicated to the study of the fairy tale as one of the key types of paremiology—a form of oral folk art through which the collective experience, worldview, and wisdom of ancestors are conveyed. It examines the unique features of the fairy tale genre, its distinct characteristics, and its role in folk culture. A comparative analysis of fairy tales with other paremiological genres, such as proverbs, sayings, and riddles, reveals both commonalities and the unique aspects of each form. Special attention is given to the genre diversity of fairy tales, their symbolism, and their instructive function, which manifests through fantastic elements and mythological imagery. The article also highlights the importance of fairy tales in the cultural life of society and in education, as well as their impact on the development of morality, imagination, and creativity in children. Considering fairy tales as a crucial element of cultural heritage, the article emphasizes their role in shaping national identity and the moral character of the younger generation.
