THE USE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN ENHANCING READING SKILLS

Abstract
This study explores how authentic materials enhance language learners' reading skills. Authentic materials—resources originally created for native speakers in real-life contexts—encompass written texts, audio, visual, and interactive materials. These resources are highly effective in motivating students and making the learning process more engaging, as they mirror real-world language use. By using authentic materials, learners improve their vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills, leading to a richer understanding of the target language.
